Crop Development Report June 2025

The first months of the 2025 growing season are behind us – time for an initial assessment of hop development in the Hallertau.
From March through June, temperatures consistently remained above the long-term average, while precipitation levels stayed below normal.
June was particularly remarkable: temperatures exceeded 30 °C on eight days – the highest number ever recorded for this month in our data.
Crop development currently varies significantly across sites. Hop plants on lighter soils were more affected by heat and drought stress, while other locations proved more resilient.
The final harvest outcome will strongly depend on the weather conditions in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen whether the June heat will affect yields and alpha acid levels.
