Crop Development Report July 2025

July finally brought much-needed rainfall to the Hallertau. With approximately 97 mm of precipitation, the monthly total slightly exceeded the long-term average.

This helped stabilize water supply across hop gardens. At the same time, temperatures were noticeably lower than in June.

Crop development continues to vary between sites. Some gardens are still in bloom, while others already show well-developed cones.

Late-harvest bitter varieties benefited from the rainfall. For early aroma varieties, however, the relief may have come too late.

Current estimates suggest aroma yields could be 10–20% below last year’s level.

The coming weeks will be decisive.
